- We are automating almost every step involved in closing a barter - including being able to predict and offer curated suggestions to businesses about what businesses they would best match with to achieve a successful barter. One of our competitors openly acknowledged in an SEC document that they have not placed an emphasis in tech, and this is a trend we've seen throughout the industry. Most people do not know bartering exists or is a viable option for acquiring what is needed. We want to fill in that void, and make BarterSugar the number one marketplace for small and mid-size business bartering needs (and eventually all businesses).

- I began this startup in the United States, because with 76% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and with small businesses struggling to stay open (indeed from 2008-2010 over 300,000 businesses closed down, putting over 3 million people out of a job), owners of small businesses need an alternative to the buy-sell model of getting what they need. On BarterSugar, barter negotiations are private between the transacting parties. As a result, a business owner can accept more from one business and less from another. This increases the access to products, services and spaces that a business might not otherwise be able to afford to use. Bartering is a real solution in an economic climate that is not going to get better anytime soon. For small businesses, bartering is a way to propel their business forward without draining their bank account. A robust business means a business can grow, provide raises to current employees, hire new staff, and that is how we can begin to change a stagnant and relatively depressed economy.

- We have two revenue streams: First, we have a brokerage percentage fee in place, so each barter will cost a 7.5% per party per barter (Brokerage fee model). Second, for businesses that are engaged to barter but do not want what the other business offers, may instead barter BarterSugar trade credits. One trade credit equals one USD, and any business that needs more trade credits then we initially provide them may purchase more. In future model we will roll out subscription fees and a referral revenue model.

- Global Reach! We have conducted zero paid advertising, marketing or sales of any kind and already have users from the U.S., Chile, Argentina and Japan. The concept of bartering is borderless, and because our product is wholly digital, any business owner with an internet connection can benefit from BarterSugar.
